[verb] + 一点儿 + [noun] [adjective] + 一点儿
一点儿 means "a little" or "a bit". Before a noun it measures a small quantity.
The 儿 is northern. 一点 without it is the same word and is standard everywhere.
This is a comparison: 慢一点儿 is slower than the current speed. It is the polite way to ask someone to adjust what they are doing.
Position is what separates them, and so is attitude. 有点儿 goes before the adjective and complains; 一点儿 goes after it and asks.
点儿 alone is common after a verb: 喝点儿水, 吃点儿东西.
