最 + [adjective] 最 + [adjective] + 的 + [noun] [subject] + 最 + [verb]
最 before an adjective makes it a superlative. There is no ending to change and no irregular forms.
Whatever the superlative is measured against comes before 最, not after.
最好的朋友, 最贵的手机. Drop the noun and 的 stays: 最贵的.
Verbs of liking and wanting take it directly, and 最喜欢的 plus a noun is how "favourite" is said.
In front of a verb, 最好 stops being a superlative and means "you'd better".
