不妨【bùfáng】

不妨 suggests something with nothing to lose: "you might as well", "there's no harm in". It goes before the verb phrase, and the verb often takes 试试, 一下 or 先 to keep the suggestion light.

It's common in advice columns, essays and polite speech. In an argument, 我们不妨假设 is "let's suppose, for argument's sake".

不妨一试

不妨一试, "worth a try", is a set close in reviews and recommendations.

After the verb: 也不妨

A verb phrase followed by 也不妨 says doing it would do no harm, usually as an extra option.

Suggesting, not telling

不妨 leaves the choice with the listener. For something they have to do, use 应该 or 必须.
