[subject] + 好像 + [verb phrase]
好像 + [clause]
[subject] + 好像 + [noun] + (一样)
[subject] + 好像 + [verb phrase] + 一样 / 似的
好像 says something seems to be so. It goes after the subject or at the start, and the speaker isn't certain.
With a memory or a guess about yourself, it softens to "I think".
Followed by 一样 or 似的, 好像 compares: things look as if something were true, though they aren't.
Before a noun, it means "be like", and 一样 is optional.
The negative goes after 好像, on the thing that seems to be so.
似乎 is the written word for "it seems"; 像 alone is "resemble" and doesn't carry the uncertainty.
