[clause] + ,结果 + [clause]
[clause] + 。结果 + ,[clause]
结果 at the start of a clause gives the outcome of what came before. It usually reports something that already happened, and often an outcome nobody wanted.
The outcome can be good too, especially when it was a surprise.
所以 gives a result that follows logically from a reason. 结果 gives what actually happened in the end, and fits outcomes that a reason alone wouldn't predict. 我以为…结果… is a common frame for "I thought …, but then it turned out …".
Because it reports an outcome, 结果 doesn't introduce a future consequence or a warning.
结果 is also an ordinary noun, "result", and then it sits where any noun sits.
