就此【jiùcǐ】

就此 is 就 + 此, the written "this". Its main use marks the point where something stops: "here, at this point, there and then". It comes before the verb, and the verb is usually one of ending or parting. It belongs to formal speech and writing.

就此打住 "let's stop there" is the one form that turns up in everyday speech.

With a negative, 就此 says something did not end at that point.

"On this matter"

Here 就 means "regarding", and 此 is the matter just mentioned. This sense is common in news and official statements, often with 问题 after it.

就此 or 从此

就此 marks the end point. 从此 "from then on" marks the start of a new stretch.
