[evidence]。由此可见,[conclusion]
[evidence],由此可见 + [conclusion]
由此可见 opens a conclusion that follows from facts just stated – a figure, an example, something observed. It stands at the head of the sentence or clause, usually followed by a comma, and belongs to essays, reports and formal argument.
由此 means "from this" and 可见 means "it can be seen". The "this" has to be something concrete in the sentence before; the phrase points back at it.
总之 sums up what has been said. 由此可见 infers something new from it.
由此可见 already does the work of "so". Adding 所以 repeats it.
可见 alone does the same job in less formal writing: 可见他很忙. 由此 with other verbs (由此产生, 由此看来) has its own entry.
