ほどのことではない

ほどのことではない means "it's not worth …", "it's not something to …": the matter is too small for the reaction. The verb before it is in the dictionary form, and it often reassures someone who is worried, upset or apologising.

In the past it often ends in のに, when the other person has already gone to the trouble.

Turning down thanks or praise

Said about your own action, it plays it down. The verb is often passive: ほめられる褒められる, かんしゃ感謝される.

ほどのことではない or までもない

ほどのことではない says the matter is too small. までもない says the action is unnecessary because the answer is already obvious.
