The structure なくてもいい expresses that something does not need to be done – equivalent to "don't have to" or "it's okay not to" in English. It is the negative counterpart of てもいい ("it's okay to / may").
To form なくてもいい, take the ない-form of the verb, drop the final い, and add くてもいい:
