The expression と並んで (from the verb ならぶ並ぶ – to line up, to stand alongside) is used to express that something is comparable to, on par with, or ranked alongside something else. It conveys the idea that two things stand at the same level in terms of quality, fame, importance, or some other measure.
The most common use of と並んで is to state that one thing is just as notable or significant as another.
と並んで is used in the pattern AはBと並んで～ to highlight that A belongs to the same top tier as B. This is common when talking about famous places, people, or things.
The attributive form と並ぶ can modify a noun directly:
と並んで emphasizes standing on equal footing with the compared item. It is not used for things that are simply similar – it implies they share the same high status or level.
