[subject] + 跟 + [person] + 一起 + [verb phrase]
[subject] + 跟 + [person] + [verb phrase]
[noun] + 跟 + [noun]
跟 + person goes before the verb and names who else takes part in the action. 一起 after the person spells out "together".
English puts "with my friends" at the end. The 跟 phrase moves in front of the verb.
不 and 没 go before 跟, not before the main verb.
Some verbs involve a second person by nature: 说, 见面, 结婚, 聊天, 学. That person takes 跟. English makes them a plain object, so learners put them after the verb.
跟 is two-way: both people take part. 对 aims an action one way, at someone.
Between two nouns, 跟 can mean "and", like 和. It is more spoken than 和.
