人家 + [verb phrase]
人家 + [person] + [verb phrase]
人家 is a spoken pronoun with three uses. The commonest means "other people", set against you or the person you're talking to – often to compare, envy or nudge.
人家 can also stand for someone already mentioned, like 他 or 她, with a little distance or respect – "that person".
A name can follow it: 人家小王 "Xiao Wang, now" – usually to hold that person up as an example.
Said in a sulky or playful voice, 人家 means "me". It is affectionate and childish, and belongs between close friends or partners.
别人 is the neutral "other people", fine in writing. 人家 carries the speaker's attitude, so it doesn't suit a formal text.
With a full first tone on 家, rénjiā is a different word, "household": 村里有十几户人家.
