[subject] + 总 + [verb phrase]
[subject] + 总 + 会 / 要 / 得 + [verb phrase]
[subject] + 总不能 + [verb phrase]
[A] + 总比 + [B] + 好
总 goes before the verb and says something keeps happening. In this sense it's a shorter 总是.
总 + 会, 要 or 得 says something is bound to happen in the end, however long it takes. 总是 can't do this.
总不能 says something is out of the question, "you can't very well". It usually ends in 吧.
总比…好 settles for the lesser choice: whatever else is true, A beats B.
总觉得 is a feeling you can't shake.
总不 puts the negative inside: it always doesn't happen. 不总是 negates the "always": it happens, just not every time.
