Dialogue
A friend asked me, "About how long have you been studying Japanese?" I answered, "I have been studying for about three months." I practice for about one hour every day. How much have you improved? I am not that good yet, but I have gradually become able to speak a little. The teacher said, "Please practice speaking for about 30 minutes every day." There are also kanji so difficult that I cannot sleep. But I like Japanese so much that I do not want to give up. About how long does it take to be able to speak Japanese? The teacher said, "It will take about two years."
