又～も【また～も】

The expression 又～も (また～も) uses the adverb また又 (また) together with the particle も to express addition, emphasis on repetition, or alternatives. It appears frequently in written Japanese and somewhat formal speech. There are several distinct usages:

又…も – "also, moreover, additionally"

When 又 and も frame a word or phrase, the combination emphasizes that something additional is true or applies. 又 introduces the new information, and も reinforces the inclusive "also/too" meaning.

This pattern is used alongside structures like ～であり or ～だけでなく to list multiple qualities or facts about a subject.

又も – "once again, yet again"

When 又も appears together as a unit (with nothing between them), it emphasizes repetition – that something is happening yet again. It carries a slightly literary or dramatic tone compared to simply saying また.

又 as "or" (alternatives)

又 can also be used to present alternatives, similar to または. In this usage, も is not always present.

This "or" usage is common in written and formal contexts such as instructions, forms, and announcements.
