好き【すき】

すき好き is a **な-adjective** meaning "to like" or "to be fond of." Unlike English, where "like" is a verb, Japanese expresses liking something using this adjective. The basic structure is:

Topic は Object が 好き

The topic (the person who likes something) is marked with は, and the thing that is liked is marked with が.

The topic わたくし私は is often omitted when it is obvious from context.
