は～で有名【は～でゆうめい】

は～で有名 says what something is famous for. The famous thing takes は, the reason takes で, and ゆうめい有名 ends the sentence with だ or です.

When the reason is a whole phrase, turn it into a noun with こと before で. A な-adjective takes な before こと.

• × 速く走るで有名 → 速く走ることで有名

Past, negative and before a noun

有名 is a な-adjective and changes like one: ゆうめい有名だった, ゆうめい有名ではない. Before a noun it takes な, and the famous thing moves to the end.

で有名 or として有名

で gives the reason for the fame. として gives the role someone is famous in: "as".
