[noun] + (不) 够
[subject] + (不) 够 + [adjective]
[noun] + (不) 够 + [verb]
够 means "enough". The simplest frame puts the thing first and 够 after it as the comment, with 不 for "not enough".
"Big enough", "safe enough" – 够 goes in front of the adjective, the reverse of English.
够 + verb says there's enough for that purpose: 够吃 "enough to eat", 够用 "enough to use". The person can go between: 够你用.
On its own, 够了 can mean "that's enough!" – a sharp way to tell someone to stop.
English puts "enough" after the noun as an object. In Chinese the noun becomes the topic and 够 is the comment.
The formal 足够 can stand before a noun with 的: 足够的时间.
