[subject] + 越 + [verb] + 越 + [adjective]
[subject] + 越 + [verb] + ,[subject] + 越 + [adjective]
越…越 says that as the first thing grows, the second grows with it. Each 越 sits directly in front of a verb or adjective.
With one subject, both 越 follow it. The first slot is usually the action, and the second says how it turns out.
When each half has its own subject, the subject comes first and 越 follows it, in both halves.
越 already supplies the degree, so 很, 非常 and 更 drop out. A negative goes after 越: 越不想去, "less and less keen to go".
Two adjectives on their own make a short set phrase: 越快越好, "the sooner the better", 越多越好, "the more the better".
When nothing drives the change except time, use 越来越 instead.
