Overview
Learn how the particle を marks the direct object of a verb. This lesson shows how を indicates what an action is done to, and how it is also used with movement verbs.
The particle を marks the direct object of a verb. It shows what the action is done to.
を can also mark the place that is passed through or the place that is left.
In these cases, the noun is not the destination, but the space affected by the action. It is still treated as the direct object.
The particle を is pronounced お in modern Japanese, even though it is written を.
