The particle を is the direct object marker in Japanese. It identifies the noun that is the target or recipient of the action described by the verb.
Marking the direct object
を is placed after the noun that is directly affected by the action.
With motion verbs
When used with motion verbs like とおる通る (to pass through) or わたる渡る (to cross), を marks the location being moved through.
In casual conversation, を is sometimes omitted when the object is clear from context.
