向け【むけ】

向け goes straight after a noun and means "for", "aimed at": whoever made the thing had that group in mind. Before another noun it takes の; before a verb such as つくる作る it takes に.

向け is a noun suffix, so it takes の, never な.

• × 子供向けな本 → 子供向けの本

The noun can also be a country or a market, as in export and product talk.

向け or 向き

むき向き says something suits a group, whether or not it was made for them. 向け says it was made for them, whether or not it suits.
