Expressing relief or gladness

何より is very common on its own or at the end of a sentence to express that one is glad or relieved about a positive outcome. This is a warm, empathetic expression often used when hearing good news from someone.

This usage carries a nuance of genuine happiness on behalf of the other person. It is polite and commonly heard in everyday conversation. When used as a standalone response – simply 何よりです or それは何より – it functions much like "I'm glad to hear that" or "That's great news."
