わ～わで

わ～わで means "what with A and B": several things pile up, and the last part of the sentence says what came of it. Each item ends in the plain form plus わ, the last one in わで.

The verbs stay in the dictionary form even when the story is in the past; the tense goes at the end. Each item usually has its own topic with は. A な-adjective or a noun takes だ before わ: しずか静かだわ, あめ雨だわ. Two items is the usual number, but a third can join on.

わ～わで or し

し lists reasons in a level voice. わ～わで sounds exasperated: the speaker is fed up, or at least overwhelmed. It belongs to casual speech and chatty writing.

Now and then the pile-up is good news.
