The search dialog
The search dialog finds dictionary entries, grammar points, texts, courses, lessons and decks. It also looks up the words and grammar of a sentence or a text pasted into it, and reads the text in an image.

Opening it
Click the search icon in the top bar, or press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) anywhere on the site.
What it finds
A search with # flags searches the dictionary only.
Press Enter to search. Results are grouped into words, names, grammar points, texts, courses, lessons, decks and, signed in, your own cards. ↓ moves from the box into the results.
How to write a search and the # flags are explained in Dictionary search.
Pasting a sentence, a text or an image
Paste a sentence and search looks it up instead of searching for it as one word. The sentence is shown first, and each word in it opens a popup as in the reader. Below it, the words, characters and grammar points in the sentence are listed in the order they appear, each linking to its page.
In the dialog the sentence spans the full width above the other results. Enter shows the same on the dictionary search page.
A search is taken as a sentence when it is written in the language you are learning, splits into two or more words and is not a dictionary entry itself. Searches with flags, quotes or wildcards stay dictionary searches.
Several lines are looked up together as one text. Open in the reader opens the sentence or text in the reader. Texts longer than 2,000 characters are only offered to the reader.
Read text (Ctrl+Enter) also opens several lines in the reader, and a single line can be opened with Read as text. Paste or drop an image, or use the image button, to read the text in it.
