Looking up words on any website

With the extension on, every word in your study language on a website can be clicked to open the dictionary popup.

Clicking a word

Click a word to open its popup, the same one as on lingaku.com (see The word popup). Ctrl+click opens the word’s dictionary page instead. Words inside links and buttons are left alone, so links still work.

Hovering over a word shows its reading in kana above it.

Signed in, each lookup is saved to your account with the page’s address and title and the sentence it came from, and a New word becomes Seen.

Words marked by level

Signed in, words on every page are marked by your level, the same way as in Lingaku’s reader (see How words are marked). A glance at a paragraph shows how much of it you know.

Mark as read

Mark as read, in the sidebar, records the whole page as read. Every word on it counts as met, and the words you did not look up are offered for a higher level. Settings → Pages can also show the button at the end of every article.

Signed in, the extension also records which words were on screen on the pages you read, with each page’s address and title, so reading counts towards your progress. Watch what you read in the study options turns this off.
