Getting started
Lingaku is for reading in the language you learn. You look words up while you read, and the words you looked up come back as flashcards. It has a website, a mobile app and a browser extension, all on one account.

The parts of Lingaku
- Reading: texts at your level, your own texts and images, with a popup for every word.
- The dictionary: words and characters with meanings, examples and stroke order.
- Flashcards: spaced repetition for decks, courses and the words you looked up.
- Courses: lessons from the very beginning, with exercises.
- The dashboard: what to study today, your streak and your progress.
- The browser extension: the popup on every website, and clickable subtitles on YouTube and Crunchyroll.
Where to start
From zero, start a beginner course from the Courses page. If you can already read, take the placement test, then open a text or Explore and look up what you do not know. Study what you looked up with Today’s study on the dashboard.
