Why don't people hibernate?

If you consider the objective of hibernation, I think it's the response of animals trying to somehow survive the winter season with its lack of food.

Lactic-acid bacilli are such unyielding bacteria that, even if frozen, they would simply hibernate and can restore themselves as if they came back to life.

"It's cold, isn't it? With it being this cold, you'd want to go into hibernation, wouldn't you?" "Eh, the colder weather stresses me out, but I'd rather sleep through the summer."

It's cold. I want to hibernate.
